K. Dawn Atkin
Dawn Atkin's practice focuses exclusively on the representation of injured workers in workers compensation claims. She has a broad range of experience with work related injuries, including brain injuries, surgery denials, problems with pre-existing conditions, independent contractor issues, and injuries off the job site, such as work at home injuries. Currently, Dawn is working on a number of cases which involve both workers' compensation and personal injury. The overlap has been misunderstood by insurance companies for years, resulting in unfair payments or even denials. Slowly but surely insurance companies are being forced to recognize that Utah Code 34A-2-106 requires the proper payments to be made to the injured worker.
Dawn was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1993 and is an active member of the Workers’ Compensation Applicant Attorneys’ Division of the Utah Association for Justice. She also serves on the Labor Commission's Workers Compensation Advisory Council, and numerous committees at the Labor Commission. Dawn also serves on the Utah Supreme Court's MCLE Committee.
Whenever she can slip away from the office, Dawn enjoys pottery, silver work and gardening.
