Aurora Holley
Aurora (Rory) Holley’s practice focuses exclusively on the representation of injured workers in workers’ compensation claims. Between 2006 and 2023, Rory served as an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) for the Utah Labor Commission, the only court to hear workers’ compensation cases in the State of Utah. For the last six years of her time with the Labor Commission, Rory served as Chief ALJ for the court. Rory retired from state employment in 2023 after 25 years of service, and has transitioned into private practice with Atkin & Associates.
Rory has a broad range of experience with work related injuries, including brain injuries, surgery denials, work injuries which happen over a period of time, concerns with pre-existing conditions, independent contractor issues, and injuries off the worksite, such as work injuries sustained at home.
Rory has also provided numerous education classes to other attorneys on workers’ compensation issues, including how to calculate medical expenses in workers’ compensation cases, how to write persuasive technical documents for litigation, distribution of funds from third party settlements, and discussions of important historical decisions in Utah workers’ compensation cases.
Rory was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 2005. Rory is an active member of the Workers’ Compensation Applicant Attorneys’ Division of the Utah Association for Justice. Until recently, Rory also served on the Utah Bar’s Character and Fitness Committee. While a student at the S. J. Quinney College of Law (University of Utah), Rory was a member of the competitive mediation team and Articles Editor of the Family Law Journal.
When not pursuing greater legal insights, Rory can be found with her family enjoying numerous outdoor activities, cooking international cuisine, or losing herself in a great story, be it movie, book, podcast, or music. Rory is also an unrepentant national park nerd.
